"Nope, this doesn’t have to be complicated at all.”

Warnings and Wildfires is a new contemporary romance by the creative genius Autumn Jones Lake. This stand-alone love story offers a delicious blend of complex characters, a tender forbidden romance, and an intriguing plot. With an unforgettable ensemble of characters, this heartwarming story will leave you swooning. Warning- this read will melt your kindle!
description
"I kiss her harder, claiming her, not holding back this time. Savoring her sweet taste, I decided not to let Aubrey out of my sight for a second.”
Sullivan “Sully” Wallace has one focus in his life and that is his daughter. He works hard, takes care of his mother, and is loyal to his brother and friends. With hard work and drive, he strives to provide the best life for his daughter. When Aubrey Dorado crashes into his life, Sully is captivated by her spunky personality and unbelievably beautiful body. Aubrey is completely taken by Sully and when he offers her a job at his gym, she is eager to work hard and gain his trust. Sully has sworn off dating his employees but as the connection between Sully and Aubrey continues to deepen, the attraction becomes more than either can deny. But Aubrey has a secret and when Sully discovers the truth, will he have the strength and endurance to stay by her side?
"Under Sully’s hands and mouth, I’m like a flower that blossomed too early. Stung by an unexpected frost, my growth stunted. Sully’s the first warm kiss of sunlight. He makes me want things I haven’t wanted in a long time. Things I thought were wrong to want. Would lead me to trouble.”
description

Told in dual POV, Warnings and Wildfires is a beautiful tender romance with a strong heroine and an exquisite alpha hero that will do anything to protect his girl. His claim over Aubrey is nothing short of perfection. The dynamics between the two are intense as both must overcome the strongholds from their past. As they learn to trust and love again, the passion between the two is explosive. Aubrey has been through unthinkable heartbreak and Sully offers a healing like she has never experienced before. With the addition of the supporting characters, the entire ensemble exudes love and loyalty for each other. The text is full of witty banter and as each moment seamlessly blends into the next a beautiful mosaic is created. I have long been a fan of Ms. Lake’s work and Warnings and Wildfires is another example of her flawless storytelling. With a strong presence from some of my favorite characters from Bullets and Bonfires, this is one world I love to explore. With a unique plot and remarkable characters, Sully and Aubrey have stolen my heart completely and I simply could not turn the pages fast enough!

Overall, I highly recommend Warnings and Wildfires to readers who enjoy a tender story of overcoming. With an exquisite plot, passion, and unforgettable characters, Warnings and Wildfires is one summer read that I will never forget.

Something like 2,5 stars???

*********************************************

In any romance book, what makes me invested in it quickly is the beginning of their relationship.

If it is good (e.g. a good and fun banter, him pursuing her, strong sexual chemistry etc), then I am interested in the rest of their story.

However, if it is not meaningful, I mean, if how they start the relationship doesn't give me the feels, then I lose interest.

*********************************************

And I lost my interest in this book because of how their relationship started.

*********************************************

Here's what happens:

Aubrey is regularly going to the gym Sully owns and she is taking self-defense classes as she had a traumatic experience in the past. She finds Sully attractive and they also have mutual friends who think they would be a good match but Sully believes that he should never get involved with a customer so he stays away. Then, he gives her a part-time job in his gym seeing she needs money and she is an efficient person. So now, she also becomes his employee, which makes her even more forbidden for him so he decides not to get involved.

If a man stays away from the woman he wants, that means "he doesn't want her enough". And this is not good enough for me. I don't like such heroes.

*********************************************

Aubrey on the other hand, embarrass herself twice, which makes the situation even worse for me!

The first time is after he has helped with her wound on her knee. One moment while he was leaving, he was standing close to her and she thought he was going to kiss her so she closed her eyes and waited but of course, he wasn't going to kiss her. He just left.

So, why would a girl close her eyes and wait? To look stupid???

The second time is even worse. He was teaching her some self-defense moves and again he was touching her, holding her etc. to be able to show her the moves. This time, she can't help herself and kisses him on the lips.

Him? Well, of course, he doesn't kiss her back. He stays frozen. Such an embarrassing moment for her it was but any idiot behaving so stupidly deserves embarrassment, if you ask me.

I just don't happen to like such stupid heroines, so these idiotic actions of hers killed the romance for me.

*********************************************

So how does it start?

Well, after a few moments of jealousy, Sully gives in to his attraction to Aubrey and he decides to break his own rules. Aubrey was of course waiting for him to do that and she embraces the opportunity.

As I was disappointed at how it all began, I lost my interest in the book.

*********************************************

Safety:

After she becomes his girl-friend, there is one small OW drama, where one of his f*ck-buddies comes and says some nasty stuff to Aubrey.

As for safety, there is no cheating. Before they started a relationship (but while he was attracted to Aubrey), Sully tries to hook-up with his regular f*ck-buddy in a bar toilet but calls her "Aubrey" so she is pissed and leaves him. But if he hadn't used a wrong name, he was going to have sex with her while feeling attracted to the heroine and so there is that!

*********************************************

After they start a relationship, there are some sweet moments and there are totally boring ones.

Sully is a single dad so there is a lot of time with his daughter.

A guy who harassed Aubrey and was in prison is released and he comes back for Aubrey so there is a drama related to him, as well.

Also, there are too many side characters like her sister, his brother, her friend, his friend etc and there are a lot of scenes involving them. Maybe they will get their books later??? I don't know.

In the end, there is a HEA with a very short epilogue.

*********************************************

The book is 290 pages and it is written in dual point of view.

All in all, it is not too bad but it is not good enough so that I can recommend it.

"You're all fitness-y and I'm kinda fluffy."

I'm a huge fan of the author's Lost Kings MC series that I started back in 2014, and I've been stalking her ever since. Yes, it was my MC Romance addiction that put her on my radar, but it was her talent that kept me coming back for more. While Warnings & Wildfires is not about badass bikers, I'm happy to report that a few of my favorites did make an appearance.

I knew from reading the synopsis that Sullivan (aka Sully) would rescue Aubrey and then later hire her to work at his gym. He knew it would be a struggle to keep his thoughts and his hands to himself, but it was even worse than he imagined. Not only was he fighting his own impulses, he now knew that she felt the same way. "We have enough chemistry to blow up a building."

Woo Hoo! Holy Hotness, Batman! The harder they fought their feelings the less control they had over them. I was afraid my Kindle was gonna blow up with them, but it wasn't enough to convince me to let go of it. Nope, the 'slow burn' had me gripping it even tighter. I was whispering in their ears, encouraging them to give in to their lust for each other, fanning the flames.

Both characters have painful pasts and good reason to avoid relationships. They know that working together makes them off-limits to each other. But hey, rules are made to be broken, right? And just to keep us on our toes, the author threw in some secrets and suspense to go along with the warnings and wildfires. I was really, reeeaaally curious about Aubrey's past but all I was getting were glimpses that were doled out throughout the story. Keeping me anxious and worried as I waited for what I hoped wouldn't happen to happen. And at the same time, I waaasss ready for some rulebreaking. I was on standby, ready to take notes.

While the story is a standalone, I'm really hoping for more from this amazing cast of characters. Sully's brother, Jake, is so funny and such a manwhore. I also love Aubrey's sister, Celia. She is badass and I loved it when she would put him in his place. Then there's the sexy neighbor...sigh. Do you see where I'm going with this? That's at least two books right there, unless you put all three of them together, and that's not a bad idea either. The line forms here...

5 Sully and Aubrey Stars

Autumn Jones Lake writes cracking books and this is no exception. It follows on from Bullets and Bonfires but is easily a standalone. Lovely to see some of the LOKI guys appear. (If you haven’t read The Lost Kings MC series , you really should!) Sully’s younger brother is Jake. He is in the LOKI books as Wrath’s gym business partner.

Sully and Aubrey have skirted around their attraction to each other for a while but suddenly Sully finds himself coming to her rescue. I understood Sully’s resistance to getting involved, he is a single dad to 12yr old Maddy, Aubrey is his client and then he is her boss. But the attraction between these two is intense and finally they cave in to it.

The story is well paced and there is some hilarious dialogue especially between the guys in the book. No one writes men’s conversations quite like AJL. Perfect!

As a heroine Aubrey is very likeable and I thought her backstory was so sad. She is so brave and I loved how her confidence grew.

Sully is a very loyal, kind and hot guy but he has a definite edge. His past surprised me though. It was more dramatic than I’d anticipated.

Fantastic secondary characters. OMG... I need Jake’s story!

HEA? Yes.
Cheating? No

This had been sitting on my kindle for since last year and I was excited to finally get around to reading it. A cute heroine and a single dad? That’s my kindle crack right there. However, the way everything played out really made my excitement take a nosedive.

Sully was so hot and cold with Aubrey. I felt her frustration in dealing with him on a daily basis and not knowing how he was going to act. Don’t get me wrong, Aubrey wasn’t perfect. She was naive and a little slow, but she was genuine and didn’t play games. Once he finally got over his issues, they became a cute couple.

Besides Sully’s hot and cold, I had issues with the way Aubrey’s history came to present and Sully’s whole parenting situation. Can’t talk much about Aubrey’s past because that would spoil some things. But Sully wasn’t really a full-time single dad like he was made out to be. He only saw her once a month because she lived in another state. While he says that he wants to see her more, he never really seems to rock the boat on that issue and things just start to fall into place on their own.

If you can’t tell, this was an okay book for me. I don’t think I’m going to read from his author again, just because looking at her backlist, she has a lot of MC romance and only one other standalone. Neither of those interests me.

I am always eager to jump into a book by Autumn Jones Lake and this was no different. Now I am so used to reading her Lost Kings books that I wasn't sure what to expect with this one but I had faith that it was going to be good and it was great! We get to see some of our favorite MC guys and Sully and Jake are nothing to sneeze at either. Sully is a swoon worthy character that has so many qualities that you will find it impossible not to fall in love with him.

Sully knows that getting involved with Aubrey is against his rules but now that he hired her and she is around more he is finding it harder and harder to resist her. The chemistry between these two is smoking but Aubrey keeps getting hurt with his rejections of her. As time goes by they learn more and more about each other and things grow. Unfortunately the past rears its ugly head and puts not only what they have in danger but puts one of them in danger as well.

This is a must read book. You will fall in love with all the characters and be like many of us and want more. Seriously I would have no problem begging for a story with Jake and Celia at least but their neighbor has me intrigued and wanting more as well. Anyway do not miss out on this book!!!

Sullivan has rules. Never date a client. Never date an employee. He will soon break both.

Aubrey lives with her sister, works part time at a coffee shop, takes a couple of classes in college and will do almost anything to earn extra money to help her sister. Who is her only real family. The only one who cared or stood by her. When she walks a big dog for her neighbor, he takes off, causing her to fall and the dog to run. Luckily someone helps. Sully. She has been drawn to him since she started taking self defense classes he gives to groups of women for free.

Sully is never one ot be the knight in shining armor but when he sees her crash to the pavement and struggle to keep the dog safe he rubs into action. When he sees who he helped he is flustered. He finds her extremely attractive but he has rules.

Soon he has her working the desk at his gym and she is more than he could ask. He will soon forget his rules and the two will draw close but just when things look the sunniest, her secret past will threaten it all. Their attraction, the love, the happiness. Worse, her life.

A great read. Almost a 5 star. I think I wanted a little more for the ending but definitely a must read recommendation from me. I loved it.

Another solid read from one of my favorite authors!
I adored Sully. I loved how honorable he was and how he always treated Aubrey with respect. But in the bedroom he took charge and the two of them had crazy chemistry! I loved his devotion to his daughter and his anguish about only seeing Madison for short periods of time. I loved how he always wanted to do what was best for his daughter no matter what.
Aubrey is probably one of my favorite heroines. She was so strong and smart, but also sweet. I loved how she recognized where Sully needed help and her initiative to do something about it. Celia was just an amazing big sister for Aubrey. I loved how strong and sassy she was.
5 burning stars. I can't wait for Jake's book!

***Arc happily received from author for an honest and unbiased review***

As soon as I realized WARNINGS & WILDFIRES had hit my kindle I dropped everything and dived right in. If there is one thing I know, its the excitement I'm going to feel when i read one of A.J Lake's books!

This was yet again a fantastic read which Immediately hits the mark and grabs your attention with its enticing storyline and characters! Warnings & Wildfires is a standalone but also a sidekick to the ongoing and much loved Lost Kings MC series AJL is best known for and does feature some of the Lost Kings characters we all know and love so well. Saying that, it is not a requirement to read anything prior to enjoy this book.

In this story we meet the very handsome, 28 year old Sullivan (Sully) Wallace. Owner of Strike Back gym and older brother to the sexy and cheeky Jake who pops up occasionally throughout the Lost Kings MC series.
Sully has been focused on his business and daughter who he only gets to see one weekend a month, for the past 5 - 6 years leaving little time for anything else, much less love?

Aubrey Dorado, the 22 year old sassy little pocket rocket who lives with her older sister, Celia, after their parents disowned Aubrey as a teenager because they didn't want Aubrey's “mistake" to give them a bad image. Unfortunately Aubrey's parents cared more about making good impressions than their own daughters safety and welfare but that's ok, Aubrey doesn't dwell on it, if anything its made her the strong and independent woman she comes across as in the story.

Aubrey has been taking the women's self defense classes at the local gym... Sully's gym! Where it's soon obvious the two share more than a little friendly interest in each other but Sully's "no fraternising with the clients and now the staff after he gives her a job rule” is putting a major spanner in the works and neither are too impressed about it. Regardless of how attracted he is to Aubrey, Sully isnt about to break his rules, his mum and daughter are the only ladies he has time for in his busy life... but Jake and the guys are more than willing to do what it takes to make him realise he CAN find time for love and what better than to show a little obvious interest in the girl?... brings out the caveman in the man Every.Time!

I would put W&W in the insta-love category after their initial "trying to fight it" doesn't work. Normally I'm not a big fan of this theme but like with all Lake's books she has a real knack of giving you great chemistry just how it should be given without the cheesy with a side of greasy - which is normally how I find insta-love to be!

The storyline and characters are so well developed and even though this is a standalone you still get the complete picture. AJL doesn't give her readers a half-assed story so she can get away with writing a shorter book... quality AND quantity is never an issue, yet it was still all over way too quickly ☹ which in my opinion is always the sign of a good book, don't you think?
Without giving anything away W&W did revolve around some serious matters, but don't worry it wasn't over-the-top, becoming the main focus and all melodramatic. No, It's definitely a great mix of drama, action and what we all love... sexy romance!
Her male characters are always the strong alpha male type but also have that swooniness (yes that's a word, at least in this genre) when it comes to looking after their women (and friends) and likewise with the women. Strong, independent, sassy and sexy, with kickass attitudes and never the victim mentalities. I think the great characters along with storylines that are mature and intriguing is what makes me and many others so in love with her books!

Warnings and Wildfires is a again a standout read by Autumn Jones Lake and l highly recommend to everyone who enjoys the lighter side of serious romance!

You did your fans proud once again Autumn, and a big thanks for giving us some more dreamy men to put into our spankbank WHAAAAAAT! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

It's a hot summer morning and Sullivan is already running late. He is no one's white knight, but when he sees a damsel in distress, he has to rescue her. He didn't know it would be Aubrey Dorado, the girl he swore was off-limits. Now she's under his skin and he can't get her out of his head. But how much longer can he resist the attraction simmering between them?

If you have read the Lost King's MC your about to see some characters from this story about Sully and Aubrey. However you do not have to have read those books to read this one. This is a complete standalone romance that is hot and steamy and I loved. Your so going to love Sully. There is just something her lately about these single father's that really grabs my heart and Sully is a single father. He also owns a gym with this brother. He is also not the guy who does serious relationships. His a casual kind of guy and he know that the girl he has been crushing on for a while, Aubrey, is not. Aubrey is young and dependent on her sister who she is roomies with. Aubrey too has really ot had the best life there is to be had at this point in her life. So when she gets the opportunity to work at Sully's gym she takes that chance and the heat just keeps getting more explosive between these too. However Sully has a rule that he never dates employees or clients but he just can't help the way he feels about Aubrey. This book will grab you from the first pages and have you not wanting to put the book down. I loved it and basically devoured it in a day. This is an amazing book that you do not want to miss.

O M G!!!! I could not get enough of Sully!!!!! He is EXACTLY the type of romance hero I adore!
Sweet and thoughtful on the outside. HOT and demanding inside the bedroom! YUM!

But as usual with this author the book is more than just hot sex. There's delicious sexual tension. There are funny moments. There is angst. There is love. The love Sully has for his family and friends. The beautiful way he treats his daughter. Just everything about him was delicious!

Aubrey was my favorite kind of romance heroine! She has a backbone and stands up to Sully as well as his obnoxious brother, Jake. But she's sweet and caring when it comes to Sully's 12 year old daughter. She's also so smart and brave. I absolutely loved the way Aubrey treated Madison.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book! I can not wait for Jake's story!

Sometimes trying to fight your feelings makes them even stronger, and for Sully that rings very true. He first meets Aubrey in one of his self defense classes, and because he doesn't want a bad reputation, he does not date students. But his heart and other parts of his body feel otherwise. Aubrey is the type of heroine I love! She's hard working, self sufficient and she says her mind. The only problem, she has her secrets from her past, which led her to Sully in the first place. If you've read the books in the Lost Kings series you will recognize old friends you already love, but because this is in the Lost Kings world and not in the series, you can start from here. This story made me smile, laugh out loud, it made my heart race (for various reasons), and it made me cry. I absolutely LOVED it!! There were times my eyes were welling up while I was smiling, it's just that amazing!! I have a hard time finding different words to describe this author's books because I love them so much, and I'm very happy to say I've never been disappointed. If you've never read an MC Romance before I highly suggest you start with the Lost Kings series because you will fall in love and ache (in a good way) when you finish. I always miss these characters (who I seriously think of as friends) when I'm not reading books about them, but it's definitely worth it, to be able to read all the words. I look forward to the next book and when you are done you will too! Enjoy!!

Oh my god y’all, Autumn Jones Lake knows how to write a damn book!! Love love loved this book! Doesn’t matter that she switched from writing about MC’s to something else, she still makes us feel all the things! There is always so much depth, heart, sassiness, chemistry and alpha males, that you just can’t help falling in love with everything she writes!! I won’t post any spoilers but this is a fabulous story and you must must must read it!!

Warnings and Wildfires is an amazing story of love, life and survival about Sullivan ‘Sully” Wallace and Aubrey Dorado. I have been counting down the months, weeks and days until this book was released, after reading Autumns other series (Lost Kings MC) and Bullets and Bonfires we had small snippets of Sully and I was left wondering what his story was.

Sully is a single Dad, he has his Gym and his family those are his priorities, when Aubrey starts working in the Gym he has to keep his hands to himself and not cross the line breaking his rules. Aubrey may be young but she has been through enough to last her a lifetime, with her sister as her number 1 supporter she has started to build her life and slowly find the confidence to go after what she wants.

Sully is such a swoon worthy character, he is the brooding and silent type which makes him even more appealing, when finding out he has a child that he will fight for I was sign, sealed and delivered. Aubrey doesn’t realise it but she is a fighter, she is stronger than she knows. Picking yourself up and starting a new life in your teens is not easy especially with the trials and tribulations of past drama.

Sully and Aubrey have chemistry, neither of them can deny that. Sully holds back for as long as he can, when they finally come together there is no doubting the level of heat between these two heads straight to maximum, leaving you hanging for the next scene.

“The only words that come to mind are explosive, detonate, inferno.” – Aubrey

Autumn is no doubt in a class of her own, Warnings and Wildfires flows naturally between Sully and Aubrey’s POV’s. Autumn knows exactly when to insert drama with situations that are not only believable, showing that life isn’t as black and white as you may think.

Personally, anything Autumn Jones Lake is an instant 1 click for me, reading her other series and standalones have cemented her into top spot as my favourite author. Again, I will start counting down till we have the next instalment as there are several minor characters that I would love to get to know better. I would highly recommend this book and suggest that you also read Bullets and Bonfires first as many of the characters are involved in both.

This is a 4.5 stars.
Autumn never, ever disappoints.
I keep saying the same thing when I review/rate her books, but it's true! I can pick up any of her books and yes obviously I prefer some of them (it usually involves a lot of Rock, oops), but once I reach the last page, I know I will have read a lovely story. It's well written, it has passion, it has love, it has emotions, it has interesting main characters AND interesting side characters, her alpha males are alpha but not assholes (yes, it's possible!!), her female characters are always presented with a strong backbone, yet Autumn never falls into the "big badass masculine" trap either. She writes strong female characters the way I love them: they're strong their own way, not in a masculine way. Strength can be expressed in many different ways, and Autumn always takes the time to do just that. She honors women in her writing, avoids most of the usual clichés (except for the delicious ones we all love to find in our romances) and gives us some seriously steamy scenes.

Sully is one of those strong, steady men, but one who has doubts as well. It's explored through his relationship with his daughter, and it's beautiful to read. It offers a new angle to explore him, it adds more depth to his character. In a way, he's a normal guy, but one of the REALLY good ones.
Aubrey hasn't figured herself out yet. You can see she is struggling, trying to find her path, but not in an overly dramatic way. It's relatable, it makes her like hundreds of women out there. I absolutely love this ability to take ordinary people and show that they can have extraordinary love as well. It takes talent to achieve that.

Quickie review:

This was a good book. This is Sully and Aubrey's story. Aubrey was in an abusive relationship in the past. She begins taking self defence classes at Sully's gym. She eventually gets a job there, as well. Both Sully and Aubrey have a strong attraction, which builds into a connection and a relationship. I really liked both of them as characters. I liked the story and the writing style very much as well. There were a few things that bothered me, but not enough to stop my enjoyment of the book. I didn't like that Sully yelled at Aubrey in the heat of a particularly high emotion moment. And I also didn't like Sully's mom's treatment of her. Both of those moments hurt Aubrey, though she was able to forgive them easily (even if I wasn't able to as easily). I would have rated this book even higher if not for those two things. I did want the epilogue to be about them as a couple, instead of a future couple. Still, this was overall a good book. I loved the way Sully and Aubrey loved each other. They were a great couple with good chemistry. This book had fun, sexy, emotional and suspenseful moments. This was my first read by Ms. Lake and I look forward to reading more from her in the future!

Book 2 gives us Sully's story. He owns Strike Back gym with his brother, Jake who we have met in some of the Lost Kings MC books, and Aubrey is one of the ladies who takes his self defence class. The pair are attracted to each other, but Sully has a don't date his clients rule which he has strongly stuck to along with his don't date his employee's rule. Both rules will be tested when Sully ends up offering Aubrey a job at the gym. What was he thinking? He can't get the woman out of his head, and every time he is near her he has to fight with himself not to touch her. Will he be able to resist?... then again, rules were made to be broken!

I really enjoyed this book. I have enjoyed everything this author has written so far and I'm so glad that while this is a separate series, it is set in the LOKI world so we get little appearances from the guys that got me reading Autumn Jones Lake books in the first place. I can't wait to read more!

I love all of Autumn Jones Lake's stories, "Warnings & Wildfires" is no exception.
It has just the right amount of ingredients to keep you on the edge of your seat...passion and chemistry=hot, hot, hot; intrigue, friendships, loyalty, family love. Sully & Aubrey are awesome!

As always, I enjoyed going back into another world Ms. Lake created. It's separate from the LOKI world, though a couple of beloved bikers do make a brief appearance!

Our heroine, Aubrey has been through a lot and she ended up living with her sister, the only person that has ever truly loved her and protected her. Sully is a single dad who's struggling to make a name for himself; make his gym and business into something big, so he could continue providing for his teenage daughter he gets to see way too rarely.

How do these two characters fit together? Aubrey is shy, Sully is kind of a player but he still has a self-imposed rule he won't break: no dating the clients.

Or so he thinks.

It's inevitable how things come together, and everything is happening a bit fast but you get the feels; the funny moments - Jake is hilarious - and, of course, the steamy scenes.

While Aubrey wasn't my favorite of AJL's heroines, I loved Sully, I loved Jake and, most of all, I love Keegan. Really can't wait for more books set in this world!

I voluntarily agreed to read an early copy of this book. My rating is 4 stars.

I loved Autumn’s Lost Kings MC series and this book just shows she isn’t a one-dimensional author and that she can switch genres seamlessly. Sully is my new book boyfriend, I am staking claim. Sully is a sexy single father that owns the gym where Aubrey takes self-defense classes. He has a steadfast rule no dating clients and then when he offers her a job he is screwed again when he has a no dating employees rule.

Aubrey is a woman with a dark past. She has had a crush on Sully from day one of self-defense class. When he offers her a job at the gym it’s a godsend because she needs family and he is offering her one. And of course the added benefit of working in close proximity to her crush. Working together they build a beautiful friendship and love for one another. Will Sully still be interested in her when her past is exposed?

A new standalone with a slight crossover of The Lost Kings MC (one of the best ever) I was raring to read this sexy romance. Even more so when I started reading it and Wrath popped up as a cameo appearance. Squee! As an added bonus we got characters from Bullets and Bonfires too. I love it when book worlds collide.

Sullivan (aka Sully) runs his own gym which is his main focus rather than relationships due to his responsibilities to family. When he rescues Aubrey whilst out and about, he fights his attraction to her but sees she has the same attraction for him. When he surprisingly offers her a job at his gym, he knows he needs to fight this attraction even more – no romancing with the staff! But as the days pass they both know this fight is a losing battle.

This was one hot steamy read with lots of surprising revelations that made this a compelling and engrossing story line. So much so that from the moment it landed on my kindle I did not stop and read it straight through. I fell for both characters from the start and the secondary characters were a hit too, especially Aubrey’s sister Celia and Sully’s brother Jake (hopefully the next book?)

The chemistry and connection between Sully and Aubrey were both passionate and heart-warming at the same time. It melted my heart and made me swoon. The story has masses of depth and drama that held me captive from the first page to the very last. It is one I definitely recommend you one-click now and fall for Sully and Aubrey just like I did. Five enticing stars!
